What To Bring and what Not to Bring 


Bring...

Clothing
Thermal underwear (2 pr)
Wool socks
Good hunting boots-waterproof and thinsulated
Gators- (fit over shoes to knee to keep snow out of your shoes)
Your favorite hunting clothes
Sweater or light jacket
Neck Gator

Sock Hat
Hat
Heavy coat
Gloves-wool
Your LUCKY hat (everyone has one!)
Raingear-don't forget this one!!!
(Gore-tex is good)
Underwear
Tee shirts
You will need light and heavy clothing
Sunglasses-snow can be blinding
500 sq. inches of orange -- Vest and hat-- (orange camo is not accepted)

GEAR...
First aid/ Survival kit: small round votive candle, waterproof matches, string, large garbage bag, space blanket, food bar, metal cup, bouillion cubes, small coffee or tea bags, fire starter, compass, topo map(drop camps) for area going into, flagging tape, pencil, paper, bandaids, ace bandage, aspirin, neosporin, cold tablets, throat lozenges.
Rifle or bow .270 or better
40 rounds of ammo
Good knife
Game bags-elk size
Light-rope-such as parachute cord
Canteen or waterbottle
Sunscreen
Compass-learn how to use this!!!(if you don't know how)
Pocket size personal First Aid Kit of Survival Kit
Space Blanket-pocket size for sudden weather change
or signaling
Fanny pack-large back packs are not necessary
Flashlight with extra alkaline batteries
(mini mags work well)

Sleeping Gear...
Good sleeping bag-3 lb. down or equivalent.
Bag should be rated at -10*F.
Blanket or sleeping bag liner
Pillow

it gets very cold at night in the mountains.

Personal Hygiene...
Drop Camps bring your own toilet paper (provided in guided hunts)-we provide latrine and again "Be Prepared" with pocket paper when you leave camp
each morning. Chapstick-a MUST HAVE with the winds out here. Portable Showers

You may think my "not to bring" list is absurd, but you would not believe what I have been asked to pack in the past. Think LIGHT. This is a hunting camp.
