We are permitted in unit S-17 and S-29 the Alamosa Canyon area has one resident tag available. Unit S-9 which is well known as one of the best sheep units in Colorado. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains are high in elevation and very rugged. Typical rams have scored from the mid 160's to the high 180's. Most hunting is done on foot from a base camp. A typical day consists of glassing distant slopes for several hours and then planning a stalk. A sheep hunt is probably the most physically demanding hunt on the planet but the rewards are worth the effort.
